One thing that's been on my mind lately is the process of growth. This past year for me has been all about movement, forward motion, putting myself in situations that have allowed for necessary growth. For so long, I felt paralyzed, unable to make decisions about work, love, life. It felt like I was rotting. And then, I took the first step...one that was out of my comfort zone. Whether it was in the right or wrong direction, I found out that it didn't matter. All that mattered was that I was moving, that I was making effort to figure it out, that I was making an effort to grow.
And so my three things this week are about growth and what has been necessary for it.
be. I love this TED talk by Brene Brown. Vulnerability is necessary for connection. Being honest, showing who you truly are, putting yourself out there in a genuine way...these have all been necessary for my personal growth.
release. Morning pages have changed my life. I'm talking serious change. I was spending so much time worrying and not enough time doing. Morning pages gave me a way to empty my brain and get on with my day, with a much clearer mind.
commit. Set those goals. Write them down. Make a vision board. You goals may change, of course, but it's good to be working towards something....however big or small it may be.
