A friend recently told us about Liz Thomas: Long Distance Adventure Hiker, and we immediately knew we had to talk to her. She rocks! Liz Thomas is a well-traveled adventure athlete most known for breaking the women’s unsupported speed record on the 2,181-mile long Appalachian Trail in 2011 at the age of 22. Did you get that 22 years old! She is one the the most experienced women hikers in the country having backpacked over 10,000 miles across the US. Liz has been featured in Backpacker Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, and LA Magazine and has given talks about her experiences at colleges, hiking clubs, and conferences across the country. We were so psyched when she accepted our invitation to be part of By Way Of.
