After a week of being "under-the-weather" as they say, I got to thinking about what I can to take care of my "self". A lot can contribute to one's immune system puttering out, and often times it isn't just the cooler air blowing in that ends us in bed with tissues up our noses. Stress, clogged energy, lack of life giving foods, and failure to exercise are just a few things that can send us into survival mode, wearing the body out. What can we do to take it easy? to think straight? and be well?
mind. I really take work related stress to another level sometimes. For some it may be stressors at work, but for me it is the stress of accepting where I am in my journey towards what I "do". I have often taken pen to paper to list out all my desires in my fantasy work situation, only to re-read and not feel 100% about what I had detailed. Yesterday I read this article and click: think freedom not balance. Breathe that thought in a few times.
body. Want a great morning ritual that will remove cellulite, cleanses the lymphatic system, remove dead skin layers, strengthen the immune system, stimulate hormone and oil-producing glands, tighten the skin preventing premature aging, tone muscles, stimulate circulation, improve the function of the nervous system, and help digestion? and you only have to do one thing?
spirit. Everyone has something that recharges their spirit. Mine is doing something creative, working with my hands, making something-anything. This past week while sick I tried my hand at shibori dyeing....friends, it is the most fun! and I swear it made me feel better:) A little sample below:
Sometimes just taking a step back to do the things that make your spirit soar can really help heal you. Laughter is a panacia and not taking life too seriously is the name of the game. Keep yourself healthy....relax your mind, feed your body, and play with your spirit....
